‘Where Little Gods Sleep’ is a documentary that explores the multi-faceted experiences of two of the Sin Ee Lye Heng troupe members, the third-generation successor Christine Ang, and apprentice Seri. Through their stories a comprehensive look at the steadfast troupe can be formed; Christine lovingly brings us back to her youth spent learning Iron-rod puppetry and the cultural teachings that came with the practice, while Seri offers a newer perspective on the craft. Ultimately, Where Little Gods Sleep is a story about old traditions, how time has moulded them as arts and society evolve, what we can give to our passions, and more importantly, what they can give back to us.
